Adult Summer Camp

Wautoma, WI

Camp Halcyon is Wisconsin’s premiere adult summer camp. Like you, we grew up going to summer camps. Some of the greatest memories that we have are from spending summers under the sun with great people doing all kinds of awesome things. We don’t think that fun should stop when you become an adult – take those memories and add wine tastings, yoga on the beach, phenomenally crafted food, and freedom to do (pretty much) whatever you please – and you get Camp Halcyon.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who goes to Camp Halcyon?

Anyone over the age of 21 is welcome at Camp Halcyon. We are making our best effort to bring together the most eclectic and diverse group possible. If you’re over 21 and under 105, we think you’d love it here 😉

How can I get to the venue?

You can drive to Camp Lakotah, just a short 2 hour ride from Milwaukee. If theres enough interest we are also looking into the possibility of a shuttle bus.

Are drinks included?

YES they are. Thanks to great sponsors like Boone & Crockett, Stone’s Throw Winery and Enlightened Brewing, we are able to offer a tap cocktail bar each night at camp, as well as Bloody Mary bars and Mimosas each morning. Many activities also include wine, whiskey or beer as well. We will not be opening the bar during the afternoons since we take the safety of our campers during activities very seriously.

Are cellphones allowed?

You are welcome to bring your phone, but we encourage you to leave it in the cabin so you can fully appreciate the beauty of camp in its fullest!

How's the food?

In a word – phenomenal. In addition to having vegan/vegetarian options (let us know ahead of time), we put together some fantastic menus that take your favorite childhood camp foods to the next level. Instead of a plain old grilled cheese lunch, think a bacon and avocado with pepperjack grilled cheese partnered with a tomato basil bisque. Instead of a plain hot dog or burger, think of a spread of the top rated sausages and hot dogs in the country paired with a full selection of premium local condiments, served with a craft beer.

What kinds of activities are included?

Here is a list of planned activities for summer 2016:

  • Canoeing
  • Kayaking
  • Sailing
  • Beach Volleyball
  • Archery
  • Arts + Crafts
  • Field Games
  • Disc Golf
  • Bubble Soccer
  • BBQ Bootcamp
  • Campfire Cooking
  • Axe/Knife Throwing
  • Geocaching
  • Paintball (additional fee may apply)
  • Laser Tag
  • Wine Tasting
  • Cigars + Scotch 101
  • Beermaking presented by Northern Brewer
  • Retro Gaming Lounge
  • Yoga on the Beach
  • And much much more!

*Activities are subject to change based off demand and availability – be sure to choose your top 5 activities in the application to make sure your favorites are available!*

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are available until May 1. After May 1, no part of the deposit or payment will be available for a refund. We also reserve the right to cancel an application at our discretion.

Where do we sleep?

No glamping here. Our campers stay on cots in cabin shells in the woods, just like you did when you were a kid.

Can anyone come?

We encourage anyone over the age of 21 to apply, but we will only have a limited number of spaces available. We will do our best to accommodate as many people as we can, but we want to also make sure that we are putting together the most interesting group of people possible. Submit your application and we will let you know by April 1 if you’ve been accepted!

What should I bring?

In addition to a great attitude, our campers should plan on bringing:

  • Sunscreen (lots of it)
  • Bug spray
  • Tshirts
  • Shorts
  • Swim gear
  • Skivvies
  • Sweatpants
  • Sweatshirt
  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Any medications or essential personal items
  • Shoes
  • Sandals
  • Beach towels
  • Sunglasses
  • Toiletries (showers and “real” bathrooms are available 24 hours a day)
  • Camera

We will also have a selection of shirts, sweatshirts and other items available for purchase at the camp canteen, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Wisconsin Youth Camping Foundation.
